October is Disability Employment Month

Good afternoon,

October is Disability Employment Month. According to reports the rate of unemployment among persons with disabilities is around 70%. ILRC is working to reduce those numbers by exposing youth to employment opportunities and professionals in the local community .
I am looking for persons from a wide range of fields who would be interested in possibiy presenting to high school students about their jobs.  So far, I have three special education teachers interested in having people present to their classes

Also, if you know of any youth who might like to job shadow employees, please let me know.  I will try to pair them with someone in our community who matches their interests.

Thank you so much for helping us create new opportunities for youth disabilities in Santa Barbara.
