In partnership with the Down Syndrome Association of Santa Barbara County and Santa Barbara Parks & Recreation we are proud to present an "Independent Living Skills Boot Camp" specifically designed for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities.

Experienced staff lead skills-based and recreational activities including swimming, yoga, volunteering, travel training, safety, cooking, relationship building, trampolining, and more!

  • Ages: 14-22
  • Dates: June 22nd through August 14th
  • Times: 10am-3pm Monday through Friday
  • Location: Westside Community Center
  • Cost: $250 per week, need-based scholarships available

Who should go?

  • Ages 14-22 with a developmental disability

  • Able to independently use the toilet, feed oneself, and engage in other self-help activities

  • Able to stay with a group and follow verbal instructions

  • Able to maintain safe behaviors in both center-based and community-based settings
