Fall 2012

AWANA starts Sept. 12 at Calvary Baptist Church from 6:30-8 pm!!

The Awana team at Calvary Baptist Church is excited to invite you to join us for the upcoming Awana year.  We will begin on Wednesday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m., meeting at 736 W. Islay St., Santa Barbara.  Please find links to the information and registration forms below or access them on our church website at www.cbcsb.org.  You will find all of the details in these forms, including a calendar of all of the club dates for the year.  Hope to see you on Wednesday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m.  (You will also find another excellent Awana club at Community Covenant Church on Thursday nights in Goleta.)

AWANA  stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed"   (2 Timothy 2:15)

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

AWANA is a children's ministry that helps parents raise their children to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.  Our number one priority is to share our Heavenly Father's love with children and point them to Heaven by helping them to understand God's Word, the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to memorize Scripture as a foundation for their life, while enjoying a fun and exciting evening.

The following age groups are offered in our AWANA program:

Cubbies - three years old (as of September) up to Kindergarten
The AWANA Cubbies Club uses stories, games, puppets, awards, and creative activities to introduce God's Word in a lively experience, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Sparks - Kindergarten through 2nd grade
The Sparks Club takes children a step deeper into God's Word. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at this level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Truth and Training (T&T) - Level 1: 3rd and 4th grades / Level 2: 5th and 6th grades
The name Truth & Training reflects the goal of AWANA to teach third through sixth-grade boys and girls the deeper truths of God's Word and to train them to follow Jesus Christ in their daily lives. Our hope and prayer is that many of today's young people will become tomorrow's leaders in the Body of Christ.
