Garden Song Day Camp (Trinity Lutheran Church)

DSC_0974

At the morning opening, campers are introduced to the Bible theme of the day in song and skit.  Campers, in small groups, move with their shepherd and helper to the following rotations:

Garden –Plant and harvest food, learn and participate in composting, water conservation and sharing the bounties of the garden.

Story Time –Hear and explore stories related to caring for our bodies, our neighbors and our environment

Music – Introduction to musical instruments, rhythms and songs. Take a “field trip” to visit the organ and its sounds, explore music from other cultures and maybe even play some brass!

Food and Crafts –Learn about the benefits of fresh food, prepare snacks from the garden, and make theme-inspired crafts.

Recreation –Games, competition and fun! Enjoy time with our enthusiastic youth and youth leader.

We take breaks for lunch (brought from home) and snacks (provided).
At the end of the day we gather to share the day’s highlights and to sing songs.

On the last day of camp the parents are invited tour the garden, enjoy a slide show of the week, hear music, and review some great art projects that will amaze you!

Our goal at Trinity’s Garden Song Day Camp is for our campers become passionate about loving God and caring for our neighbors and our environment.
